New Neurons LLC is a company dedicated to producing human neurons integrated with nanotechnologies. To understand the need for human neurons, we must remember that neurons in our brains and spinal cord do not divide and that our stock of neurons is inherited at birth. Fortunately, human neurons can be manufactured from somatic cells, such as skin cells, by a specific type of genetic engineering termed neural re-reprogramming, or neural induction. When adding nanotechnologies, induced neurons can be made autologous and disease-resistant for implants in people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases.
